Kim's journey began on a Saturday in her father's office. Desk by desk, he described each person’s contribution as essential to making things hum! That early lesson about people and work—how we can come together to create great things—became the through-line of her career.
Background wanderings:
- Early-career match-making for deaf job seekers and businesses in need of talent led to skills in positioning both sides for success and satisfaction.
- An invitation to drive people-forward initiatives from inside a corporation gave rise to a daunting question: how to turn a very big ship? In time the answer switched the metaphor: act like a gardener. Learn to seed possibilities, enrich the soil and watch for conditions, then bring people together when good things can grow.
- Flexibility and patience was a virtue, until it wasn’t… waking up post-merger like the proverbial frog in a slowly heating pot, to finally ask - how pink am I? Discovering how easy it can be to “adapt” to conditions that aren’t life-giving. Wrestling with hard choices.
- Daring to leave the security of the pot for the ‘open water’ adventure of entrepreneurship! Diving deep into ontological coaching, integral approaches and adult development (among other good things). Creating “red frog” spaces in which a larger view and attuned questions could help others rethink and redesign their work, their workplace and their leadership.
- Over time, becoming a trusted thought partner to many, able to listen beyond words for what’s ready to move in leaders, teams and organizations. Coming together with other practitioners in generative partnerships; learning from and with each other and those we serve; celebrating the ripple of positive impact in the world.
Currenty exploring:
How to restore ways of living harmoniously, in tune with a greater flow of aliveness. (I believe we’re built for this but tend to forget in the drive to achieve.) Challenging old habits and cultivating new ones. Allowing adversity to teach us so we come out the other side having found its gift.
Bringing the power of connection to our losses and collective brilliance to desired gains. Coming together in good company, in person and online, to co-inspire and co-create with generosity of spirit. Discovering new ways forward and new companions for the journey, with gladness of heart.
